Station 1: Grain Identification – Touch, See, Learn
Explore the world of prairie grains—wheat, oats, barley, flax, and more. Use your senses to identify
them by touch, sight, and feel.
Station 2: Flour Making – from grain
Discover how grain becomes flour using hand tools.
Station 3: Historic Flour Mill Tours – Machinery in Motion
Take a guided tour through our historic 1898 flour mill. See original equipment up close and learn how
grain was milled into flour in the early 20th century.
Station 4: Storyboard Scavenger Hunt – Explore Our Past
Follow clues and explore outdoor storyboard signs to uncover Yorkton’s rich agricultural and
multicultural history through vintage photos and stories.
Station 5: Wheat Weaving – Prairie Folk Art
Watch how wheat straw is crafted into decorative items. Learn about the symbolism and tradition
behind this beautiful, historic folk art.
